1. You can now view, book or cancel GP appointments online through EMISaccess 24 hours a day. This is especially useful when the practice is closed, or telephone lines are busy.
2. Before you can use this service you need to register in person with the Receptionist at either Waterhouses or Alton surgery, where you may be required to provide proof of your identity (e.g. passport or photo card driving licence). Children under 17 can be registered by their parents, but each child needs separate registration details. Young people aged 17 and over are required to register in person.
3. The Receptionist will give you an emisaccess Registration Letter, which contains the following information: personal PIN, Practice ID number, Access ID number and NHS number.
4. Follow the link to the E-mis access website below. You will need to enter the four pieces of information above to create your account. You will also be asked to enter your own password. When you have created your account you will need to enter the Practice ID number, your Access ID and your password each time you log on to the site.
5. When you log on to the E-mis access website you can view any appointments you have already made, cancel them if necessary, or book a new appointment after checking which times are available. When you book an appointment online you will receive confirmation immediately. There is no need to re-confirm by email or telephone – just arrive promptly on the day. (Please note that nurse appointments can not be booked online)
6. Doctor's Appointments only

Because of the nature of nurse’s appointments – these cannot be booked online through EMISaccess. Occasionally, circumstances dictate that sessions may be altered at short notice such as staff sickness etc. Please ring to confirm if in any doubt.

Appointments will not show on the website until they are released or created by our Administrator. If you cannot find a suitable appointment, please ring Recpetion during Surgery hours. When medical students are in the Practice, appointments which require the consent of the patient to be seen by a medical student will not appear on the screen.
