Dispensary
We dispense medicines at both surgeries to all patients on our list who live further than 1 mile from a pharmacy.

The qualified staff dispense any medicines prescribed during surgery consultations, usually with only a few minutes of waiting time. The practice computer system is fully integrated with the dispensary and stock control systems and there are mechanisms for warning us about side-effects and interactions, as well as for monitoring the quantity of medication ordered and providing reminders when review appointments are due.

Please remember to bring the standard prescription fee or exemption certificate when collecting medicines. We are accountable to the NHS for prescription charges and are audited regularly.

Please order repeat prescriptions at least two working days in advance by bringing or sending your prescription list to the practice or contacting us by phone, fax or email. Telephone orders should be between 9.00am and 1.00pm . You can order your repeat prescription by fax (01538 308653) or by email to prescriptions@waterhouses.net. Please make sure your name and address are clearly stated, together with the items you need.

Prescriptions can be collected from the Alton surgery, or delivered to your home by the minibus (there is a charge of £1.60 for this service). Please note that you need to allow an additional 24 hours for either of these options.

All patients on regular medications are asked to see a doctor or nurse for review at regular intervals.
